A Journey in Flavour – From Wine to Beer via Perry with Little Pomona, Once Upon a Tree & Sixteen Ridges @ Hereford Beer House
Co-hosted by Hereford Beer House, Little Pomona, Once Upon A Tree and Sixteen Ridges Wine, the question is: what is it that links cider, perry, beer and wine?
Join us at Hereford Beer House on Wednesday 4th October, 7.30pm, for an extra-special tasting, which traces the journey from wine through perry to a special elderflower-infused beer. You’ll be tasting a Sixteen Ridges wine, a Once Upon A Tree co-ferment, a beer, and several perries from Little Pomona, including a co-ferment and a hybrid.
This was inspired by a Hereford Beer House team visit to Little Pomona’s cidery and tasting room earlier this year, and a desire to explore the commonalities of as well as the differences between the drinks that we love to share and enjoy. Little Pomona will be joining us to share this very special odyssey, calling on four of their releases, including the most recent, their first still perry, Throne Farm Perry, plus the groundbreaking To Boldly Go, their Bacchus/perry co-ferment (a possible world-first), their hop-infused Simcoe Pear perrykin, and the ever-popular Table Perry.
These will be bookended by Sixteen Ridges Bacchus – Herefordshire’s own winery, crafting something beautiful from the unique microclimate we enjoy – and, from further afield, Schneeeule Otto, a small-batch beer cold-fermented with elderflower blossom collected by hand from around the Tegler Lake, near Berlin, where the brewery is based. We will also be tasting Once Upon A Tree’s fabulous Bacchus/cider co-ferment.
Kicking off at 7.30pm, with cheese pairings thrown in for good measure.
