Hereford City Council are pleased to confirm they have made a donation of £4,000 to Salvation Army Hereford in support of their work in providing meals to people temporarily housed by Herefordshire Council in three centres in and near the City. This has enabled people who would normally be on the streets, including a number of rough sleepers, to be safely and securely housed and able to keep within the guidelines for social distancing and staying in doors. By having one centre providing meals the Salvation Army are an important part of this programme and the City Council are happy to support their vital work.
With previous donations to the Food Bank and Hereford Rotary this brings the total of emergency donations by the City Council to £21,000 since the lockdown began. Read more on these other donations HERE
