Hereford elects new Mayor, Cllr Cat Hornsey

Introducing the 645th Mayor of Hereford, Cllr Cat Hornsey.

Today the mantle of the Mayoral post was handed from Cllr Dan Powell to Cllr Cat Hornsey.

– Cat has represented the Hinton and Hunderton Ward on the City Council since 2019. Born and raised in the ward, she continues to live there with her four school-aged children, while her eldest son is currently at university.

– With over 20 years of dedicated service to the local community, Cat is widely recognised for her work with Foodshare. She also serves as a trustee for Herefordshire Autism and Neuro Diversity Support (HANDS).

– As Mayor, Cat is committed to continuing her support for the many community groups and volunteers whose work makes a meaningful difference across the city.

Mayor’s Charities:

– Dirty Feet Dance CIC is a Herefordshire based community organisation dedicated to making movement accessible to all. Through dance, parkour and creative workshops, Dirty Feet supports children, young people and families to build confidence, improve wellbeing and feel part of a positive community. The organisation works inclusively with individuals of all abilities, including those with additional needs, using creativity and movement as a tool for personal growth, resilience and connection.

– Lee’s Place, a Community Power project, offers a safe, welcoming space & hot food hub each evening for those experiencing homelessness in Hereford.

We wish Cllr Hornsey a wonderful year ahead and we also thank Cllr Powell for his dedicated and eventful year of service!
